Plasma Jett Treatments

Jett Medical Plasma Lift

Eyelid Rejuvenation, Sagging Skin, Lines & Wrinkles, Skin Tags & Warts

Jett Plasma Lift is used for skin tightening and stimulating collagen production, especially in those areas where previously we were not able to offer effective non-surgical treatment.

The Jett Plasma Medical is a controlled-powered medical device that is used for a variety of medical and aesthetic skin treatments. For example, the skin around the eyes, being very thin, will lose elasticity faster than the rest of the face and it is especially effective in ‘lifting’ droopy upper eyelids.

Plasma Jett Treatments Frequently Asked Questions

Plasma, the fourth state of matter, is generated when the atmospheric gas between the plasma pen tip and the skin is ionised creating a small electrical arc, similar to a tiny lightning bolt. This is used to treat the problem areas without unwanted damage to the surrounding tissues. The plasma causes the contraction, tightening and shortening of the skin fibres, resulting in a reduction of the skin surface, therefore improving the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and scars etc. The final result is an improvement of the firmness and tension of the skin (lifting effect).

The treatment area will be cleaned and a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied and left to take effect. A local anaesthetic may also be used to aid discomfort. The plasma tip is held 0.2mm away from the surface of the skin, and either a scanning technique or multiple shots are delivered to the treatment area. If the tip does touch the skin, the device will cut out straight away, to stop any injury. However, you are likely to feel heat and discomfort in the treatment area, but treatment will only last between 10 – 60 minutes depending on the size of the area being targeted.

Following treatment, there will be some heat in the skin, like a sunburnt feeling with redness, and little carbon crusts where the tip has been fired to the skin. These scabs or carbon crusts will heal and fall off within 5-7 days, leaving fresh pink skin underneath. There may also be swelling depending on the area of treatment, which may last a few days.

If you are in generally good health there are very few reasons why you shouldn’t undergo plasma sublimation treatment.
However, exceptions are: Pacemaker, heart monitor or other implanted electrical device, epilepsy, pregnancy, presence of metal substitutes at the treatment site, acute inflammatory disease, oncological illness. Plasma sublimation is also not advised in those with very dark skin tones as there is a higher risk of pigmentation marks after treatment, both light and dark, particularly if the carbon crust is scratched away too early.

Generally, plasma sublimation is a very low risk procedure. There will be some redness and swelling for approximately 2-4 days post-treatment that can be significant enough to warrant social down-time. Light crustations may be present for 3-5 days and may feel itchy and sore. Clients often find application of ice packs can soothe and reduce swelling. Anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine medication may help.

Initially after treatment and for a day or so afterwards, there may be occasional weeping. This is simply plasma and is a natural healing response. This simply flakes off after a few days but in some cases can take over 1 week. DO NOT pick at any crusting as it can lead to infection or scarring. Likewise, it is important to keep the treated area clean and dry. SPF is required to prevent pigmentation marks.

The Jett Plasma treatment stimulates instant contraction and shortening of skin fibres. This process continues to take effect in the first 2-4 weeks and for up to 3 months. The effect of the treatment is subject to the number of treatments and your ageing process, but may last between 2-5 years.
You will age as you otherwise would and your skin will continue to lengthen and relax as part of the ageing process. Each individual is different, but repeat sessions in time are to be expected.
