Sagging Jaw & Neckline, Jowls, Eyebrow Lift, Nasal Contour & Tip Lift, Skin Rejuvenation
A PDO (polydioxanone) thread lift uses dissolvable biodegradable sutures to provide a more youthful appearance by tightening loose or sagging skin, giving greater definition, the appearance of lifting and improved skin quality.
They can be used to treat most areas of the face to improve the signs of ageing and can be used in combination with other aesthetic procedures such as dermal fillers and botulinum toxin.
PDO thread treatment is clinically proven to tighten, rejuvenate and restore sagging and loose skin, ultimately enhancing the integrity and appearance of the skin.
Prices will vary depending on the area treated, the number and type of threads used. Individual treatment plans will need to be made and may use a combination of mono, spiral and cog threads.
As a guide, the use of:
PDO threads are surgical threads made from Polydioxanone which is a colourless, crystalline, biodegradable synthetic polymer. The threads are inserted into the skin to lift, tighten and rejuvenate the appearance of the skin. The PDO threads are slowly broken down and bio-absorbed naturally in the skin tissue over a 6-8 month period.
Our thread treatments use the highest quality CE marked and FDA approved PDO Threads. Polydioxanone has been used in medicine for over 30 years as sutures in both Cardiovascular and Orthopaedic surgery due to its high degree of safety, predictability and reliability. Treatment should always be performed by a trained medical professional who has attended certified training courses on PDO Thread treatment. Potential complications to consider are mentioned later.
PDO threads have a powerful dual effect. The first is to provide immediate tightening or repositioning of the skin. The second is to stimulate your body’s own ability to generate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA)
All aesthetic procedures carry a risk of undesirable complications which should be discussed during consultation so that appropriate consideration can be made. Possible complications include bruising, swelling, infection, tenderness, numbness, asymmetry.
The PDO Thread treatment is a minimally invasive procedure and should require little recovery time. You may return to everyday life immediately after the procedure. Side effects include bruising, swelling and mild discomfort which should subside within 2 weeks. There are some precautions to consider for the first 2-3 weeks which include avoidance of saunas, steam rooms, massage of the treated areas, exaggerated facial expressions, dental appointments that would require wide mouth opening for a period of time and strenuous workouts.
The results will depend on age, lifestyle, medical background and skin quality but visible results should be seen immediately after treatment. Further improvement will continue as collagen production continues. However, it is important to remember that non-surgical PDO thread lifts cannot give the results that surgical face lifts can give.
Best results are achieved if you have moderate skin laxity. Skin should not be too thin or too thick and heavy. You should not drink or smoke heavily.
Forehead, eyebrows, midface, nose, jawline, double chin and neckline
Studies have suggested that PDO thread lifts can last on average up to 18 months. Realistically, however, best results will be maintained if additional threads are injected at regular 8-12 month intervals, after the initial treatment.
